Step-by-step instructions for applying an iron-on patch:
1 - Prep the area: Make sure the garment is clean, dry, and free of wrinkles. Pre-iron the area if necessary.
2 - Position the patch: Place the embroidered patch (glue side down) on your desired spot.
3 - Cover the patch: Place a light cloth, towel, or parchment paper over the patch to protect the fabric from burns.
4 - Apply heat: Set the iron to high/cotton (approx. 200°C/400°F). Press firmly for 30 to 45 seconds. Note: if you have a holographic or plastic patch, iron it from the inside of the garment only. Direct contact with the iron will damage the surface.
5 - Iron the inside: Turn the garment inside out and iron the back of the patch for 20 to 30 seconds to reinforce the bond.
6 - Cool and check: Allow it to cool for at least 15 seconds. Check the edges; if they lift, reapply heat for another 20 to 30 seconds.
Tip: For a permanent, long-lasting application, sew around the edges of the patch.
