To better fix the color of the fabric, you can let the garment soak overnight in a bucket of water with vinegar.

Fill a bucket with water and add a cup of vinegar, roughly 1 part vinegar to 10 parts water. Submerge the garment completely and let it soak for at least 60 minutes, or overnight if you prefer. Rinse it thoroughly afterward with cold water, then wash the garment according to the care instructions.
