Jane Austen Tarot Deck

At first glance, one might think Jane Austen's writings aren't particularly suited to the occult nature of tarot. Yet her books and tarot share an essentially identical message: the vital importance of balance in daily life. Tarot's very structure illuminates this need for balance, with the Major Arcana devoted to matters of the spirit while the Minor Arcana deal with life's more mundane matters. In this deck, the four suits become Candles (passion, energy, initiative), Cups (love and emotion), Pens (the rational, analytical, intellectual side of life), and Coins (physical, tangible matters). Each card is based on a character or scene from Austen's writings, but no knowledge of her work, or of tarot, is required to use the deck.
